This image came from a moment of gentle reliance. Cows have best friends and regularly rely on each other for comfort. When they’re together their heart rates are calmer, and they are less stressed. They comfort one another and when one is upset, others will approach, lick her face, or stand close as if to reassure her. They don’t just notice distress, they actively try to ease it.

This simple pose spoke volumes about trust and interdependence. As I photographed them, I became aware of how much of their communication happens through touch and proximity. It felt like witnessing a form of care that doesn’t announce itself, but simply exists—quiet, necessary, and deeply relational.

  • All prints are individually produced to order by a master printer under my supervision using Epson archival pigment inks on museum-grade 300 gsm fine art paper by Hahnemuhle for exceptional longevity and richness.

    The size indicated is the image dimensions. They are printed with an additional 1” border all around. So, for example, a 12” x 18” print will be on 14” x 20” paper.

    All prints are sold unframed. They are hand-signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
